About the Treatment

Brighter Tone,
Refined Texture

MOXI is a 1927nm fractional non-ablative laser by Sciton — engineered to lift pigmentation, soften fine lines, and resurface texture in microscopic columns. Strong enough to deliver real change, gentle enough for every skin tone with minimal downtime.

Treatment takes about 30 minutes after topical numbing. You’ll see a glow within 3–7 days as the treated outer layer naturally sheds, with pigmentation and tone correction continuing to refine over weeks. Most clients schedule 3–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for optimal results, then maintain annually. Every treatment is performed by a board-certified provider on the latest Sciton technology.

— Is This Right For You?

Who MOXI Is For

MOXI is one of the few resurfacing lasers that works beautifully on every skin tone with minimal downtime. Here’s when our team typically recommends it.

01

Pigmentation & sun damage

Sun spots, melasma, post-acne pigmentation, or uneven tone from years of UV exposure. MOXI’s 1927nm wavelength specifically targets melanin while leaving surrounding skin untouched — pigment lifts, tone evens, glow returns.

02

Texture & fine lines

Rough texture, large pores, fine lines around the eyes, mouth, or forehead. The fractional pattern stimulates new skin growth in microscopic columns — refining texture and softening lines without the downtime of ablative lasers.

03

All skin tones

Many traditional resurfacing lasers carry pigmentation risk for darker skin types. MOXI’s lower-wavelength fractional approach makes it one of the safest skin-tone-inclusive resurfacing options available — Fitzpatrick I through VI.

04

Pre-event glow

You have a wedding, photoshoot, or event coming up and want lit-from-within skin. A single MOXI session 2–3 weeks before delivers a noticeable glow — clearer tone, refined pores, polished texture — with downtime measured in hours, not days.

What to Expect

Your MOXI journey

MOXI delivers visible results with low downtime. Each step is performed by a board-certified provider in our Cranston, Rhode Island studio.

  1. Step 01

    Consultation

A conversation about your skin goals — pigmentation, texture, or pre-event glow. We assess your skin tone, history, and current concerns to map the right number of sessions.

  2. Step 02

    Numbing

Topical numbing applied for 20–30 minutes. We also use a chilled-air cooling device during treatment for added comfort, especially around sensitive areas.

  3. Step 03

    Treatment

The MOXI handpiece glides across your skin in a precise pattern. Most clients describe a warm, prickly sensation. Treatment takes 20–30 minutes for a full face.

  4. Step 04

    Recovery

Mild pinkness and a sandpaper-like texture for 24–48 hours. By day 3–4, the treated layer sheds and reveals brighter, smoother skin underneath. SPF 30+ for 2 weeks.

  5. Step 05

    Glow & Maintenance

Initial glow at 7 days, with pigmentation and tone improving over weeks. We schedule subsequent sessions 4–6 weeks apart, then move to annual maintenance once results are achieved.

— Common Questions

MOXI FAQ

MOXI is well-tolerated. We apply topical numbing for 20–30 minutes beforehand. Most clients describe a warm, prickly sensation during treatment — comparable to a light sunburn. The handpiece glides across the skin in a methodical pattern.
You’ll have mild pinkness for 24–48 hours, similar to a sunburn, sometimes with a sandpaper-like texture. Most clients return to work the next day. By day 3–4, your skin has a noticeably brighter glow as the treated layer naturally exfoliates.
Most clients see noticeable results from a single session, but we recommend 3–4 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart for optimal pigmentation correction and texture refinement. Annual maintenance keeps results going.
Yes — that’s one of MOXI’s biggest advantages. The 1927nm wavelength avoids absorption by deeper melanin, making it safe for Fitzpatrick I through VI. Many traditional resurfacing lasers carry pigmentation risk for skin tones IV–VI; MOXI was specifically designed to bridge that gap.
Microneedling creates micro-injuries with tiny needles to stimulate collagen. MOXI uses laser energy in a fractional pattern to specifically target pigmentation and resurface texture. They complement each other — MOXI for tone, microneedling for collagen — and many clients alternate or layer the two.
We recommend skipping makeup for the first 24 hours to let the treated skin breathe. After 24 hours, mineral makeup is fine. Sun protection (SPF 30+) is required for the first 2 weeks to prevent post-treatment hyperpigmentation.
You’ll notice a glow 3–7 days after your first session as the treated layer sheds. Pigmentation correction continues to improve over the following weeks. Cumulative results from 3–4 sessions become visible at the 1–3 month mark.
Most healthy adults seeking resurfacing without significant downtime are excellent candidates. MOXI is not recommended during pregnancy, with active acne flares, or recent retinoid use within 5 days. We’ll review your skin and history during a complimentary consultation.
